MEET OUR SENIOR PASTOR

Pastor Annette Lockett Barr is a native Floridian, a worshiper, a teacher, a preacher and a conference speaker who demonstrates God’s love to others. As the wife of the Late Reverend Doctor Randall W. Barr, she co-founded the New Life Praise and Worship Center in the beautiful city of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she serves as the Senior Pastor. Pastor Annette answered her call to preach the gospel in 2000, serving under the tutelage of Dr. R.W. Barr and was ordained March 15, 2003. She was officially installed as the Senior Pastor of the New Life Praise and Worship Center on January 18, 2015.

As a minister of the Gospel, she has an influence in both ministry and music. Pastor Annette has worked with and directed many choirs and ensembles and worked with several artists over the years. With a passion for worship, she established the New Life Singers, who ushers the New Life family into the presence of the Lord weekly.

Being an advocate of education, Pastor Annette has embraced the opportunity to travel and facilitate different workshops, such as Christian Leadership, Christian Relationship & the Ministry of Music just to name a few. Her commitment to helping others, shows through her lifestyle of service. She speaks at retreats, conferences, and workshops, empowering God’s people through the love of God. Pastor Annette earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Florida Metropolitan University.

After 40 years of dedicated service, she retired as an Administrator from Broward County Schools February 3, 2021 and fully embraced her gift of baking and designing cakes. She is the proud owner and founder of "A Taste of Heaven" LLC.

She is the mother of the lovely NaTasha Barr-Allen and the grandmother of the handsome Dorian Allen, Jr., the beautiful Nadiah Allen and the spiritual mother of many.
